First Rule: You cannot make money online by just jumping right in before you are properly all set. It is just like any other profession out there, such as a plumber, dentist, teacher or scientist there are things you need to learn before you can be successful. This also applies to Internet marketing and you will find some marketers who will make you believe it's a simple process.
Not to say that it is rocket science, you need to learn some things before you can start a home based business and the most important thing is to "believe" it will work. To make it in the internet marketing industry you have to follow a certain path to avoid some pitfalls. I will have to admit that it is easy when compared with a 9 to 5 (job), because you will be sharing your interests with people who have the same interest, around the whole world.
So I wouldn't say it's easy but "FUN", you will be generating cash while having fun. There are a lot of people who struggle to make money online, while there are others who get paidmore in a month than what most people generate in a whole year. So, why is that? The answer I will give you begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, which one came first? This will all lead to the same conclusion - I don't have evidence or a clue and really don’t think many people do either. But what I do know for sure is that to make money online, you need to have Passion for whatever service or products you will be using to generate money.
Passion in a sense whereby you have done your research and you like the service or product, and that there are others who will also like it. Then you will convert that Passion into excitement and education. Although there are other online entrepreneurs who are very good at what they do and forget about the passion because they can sell anything. But, I am more anxious about those who are not well-informed about running a successful online business. I am not saying that Passion is the only thing that is needed, because you will also need things such as good marketing, general advertising, support, keywords etc.
These are the things you learn from any company you wish to join, but you will decrease your chances to be successful by sidestepping Passion. What I mean is that it will be hard to apply what you have learnt if you don't have passion for the products or services provided. Remember that internet marketing has to be Fun and never hard or time consuming. If you are motivated by Passion you will never trip or fall, you will keep going with continuous effort.
You also need to use the internet search engines; they are a great resource to find more info about the internet marketing industry. When you search, uncover companies you like and only choose those YOU believe in. It should be a proven market and the product or service that they offer is sell-able and you are passionate about it. If you don't find something that contains the points mentioned above, don't dwell on it, move on.
If you think – “OK I guess this one sounds good, maybe I should try it” - you are not on the right track, this decision is based on nothing close to Passion. Even if there is a "Guru" who does that, because they might be experienced more than you or maybe they are just good at selling anything without having a Passion for it.
Note: It has to be your ultimate goal to be able to obtain the skill to sell anything online. This goal is a really worth one indeed. There are a lot of things you will need to do to get started into internet marketing, you also need to find products that you are passionate about or else you will end up with a lot of frustration instead of running a successful online business.
Remember to avoid going for a company or service that you are not sure or passionate about. You also need solid proof that the product does sell.
